The developers added also Dark oak versions for some goods, but most important, the Title Update 27 brought the most popular Greek Gods, such as Thunder God Zeus or Sea God Poseidon, but other creatures have been added as well (Cyclops etc.). They were included in the Minecraft Greek Mythology DLC, which comes with a new player interface, new texture features, a special soundtrack and 39 new skins, and they are available as a premium download for each gaming platform.

Minecraft Pocket Edition ‘The Nether Update’ 0.12.1 Features and Release Date

Minecraft Pocket Edition ‘The Nether Update’ 0.12.1 Features and Release Date

nether-fortress

The infamous ‘The Nether Update’ which has been long awaited for Minecraft Pocket Edition was initially due to be released last month however due to some technical difficulties the update was pushed back for a release earlier this month.

This patch is the one that brings The Nether dimension to those playing Pocket Minecraft on a mobile device. The Nether is a separate dimension which players can access by creating a Nether Portal using obsidian blocks; the dimension provides new blocks and monsters for players to battle against such as the infamous Zombie Pigman and Ghast.

Though The Nether may be one of the more notable features in this update there are plenty of other features which are just as important to bring Pocket Minecraft closer to the current status of console and PC versions of Minecraft; PC minecraft is still ahead of the console versions of the game. Other important additions in Update 0.12.1 include: Difficulty modes and by extension a Hunger bar, Controller support, More Movement options and also varied weather within games.

Enchanting and Experience points will also be coming to Pocket Minecraft in the same update bringing both the Enchantment Table and Brewing Stand along side it. There are also other blocks to come in such as Anvils and Nether related blocks including Soul Sand. Plenty of items will be coming in with the update which are mostly Nether generated items however Mob Heads will also be coming for those who want more to decorate their walls with.

Nether Fortresses are a sight to behold in the PC and console versions of Minecraft, with the 0.12.1 Update Pocket Minecraft players will also be able to take these on. For those not as willing to fight for their life in the The Nether players will also be able to get their own cats with the addition of Ocelots which are tamable with fish and a lot of time spent trying to convince the Ocelot to eat the offered fish.

Snow and Iron Golems will also be making an appearance in the Pocket version of Minecraft which can be created by players looking to give their house some extra defense or by those lonely in the world an unable to tame an Ocelot.

There are also small other changes to come such as the addition of a Third Person view the expected change of food effecting the hunger bar instead of the health bar as it previously did. Other small changes bring the pocket version of Minecraft closer to the current console status of the game and by extent the original PC version; doors can be stacked up to 64 for anyone with big buildings with lots of rooms and also book recipes now require leather much like other versions of the game.

The 0.12.0 update was released at the end of last month for Windows 10 devices providing all of the above changes to those using a Windows 10 device however the 0.12.1 update for iOS and Android users has no official release date. There is however a beta version of this update for testers available which should mean that the official version should be released fairly soon.

Both ‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ and 0.12 Update For ‘Minecraft: Pocket Edition’ Drawing Closer To Release

Both ‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ and 0.12 Update For ‘Minecraft: Pocket Edition’ Drawing Closer To Release

It looks like a good Minecraft news week all around. First, we got the tweet below from Minecraft: Pocket Edition [$6.99] developer Tommaso Checchi, who pretty much called the Beta season for update 0.12 over. If you haven’t been following MCPE‘s development, every new update usually goes through weeks-long beta testing on the Android side of things before popping up on the App Store once finished. Once the beta testing is over, it usually takes very little time for the update to appear on the App Store, so hopefully we should be getting the 0.12 update on iOS soon. If you don’t know anything about the 0.12 update, MCPE is about to get a huge overhaul as it’s gradually brought to parity with the PC version.

We’ll get the Nether, Nether portals, Nether fortresses, Sprinting, Sneaking, Hunger, revamped touch controls, potions and brewing stands, enchanting, rain and snow, controller support, cross-play with the Windows 10 edition of the game, and much, much more. If you want to see the changelogs from the beta testing, go here.

The other interesting Minecraft news is that Minecraft: Story Mode, Telltale’s take on the Minecraft franchise, will be playable for the first time at this year’s PAX Prime. This will be the first time that Telltale trusts its new baby to public hands, and my hope is that it means the game is coming along nicely and should hit our devices relatively soon. Telltale is known for not spending too much time between announcement and delivery (although they’ve been slipping when it comes to delivering later episodes of their games on time). While many are reserved when it comes to Minecraft: Story Mode, I’m very excited to get my hands on it, and hopefully that won’t be too far into the future.

‘Minecraft: Pocket Edition’ 0.12 Update Should Hit iOS Around September 8th

‘Minecraft: Pocket Edition’ 0.12 Update Should Hit iOS Around September 8th

It’s almost official, Minecraft: Pocket Edition‘s [$6.99] 0.12 update should hit our iPhones and iPads next week, and I’m very excited about it. As I’ve mentioned in the past, I’ve played countless hours of Minecraft on PC, and although I’ve played MCPE quite a bit too, it never clicked in the same way because of a few important features missing from the mobile version, the sneak button being one of them. Finally, we are a few days away from MCPE quickening its pace towards parity with the PC version, and I can’t wait. According to MCPE developer Tommaso Checchi, the 0.12 update, which will add rain and snow, Hunger, Sneaking, Sprinting, the Nether, controller support, and more, should drop around September the 8th.

While this update is a big step towards making MCPE even more fun to play, it’s only the first step since according to the developers, many more features should be hitting MCPE soon. One of the main features that should be coming shortly after 0.12 is the much-requested redstone circuits, a feature that really expands building possibilities. By the way, if you are on Android, you’ll be able to continue testing new features as early as next week. I hope all goes as planned and the update comes out next week so I can start building my little home in survival mode on our Mobcrush channel.
