For years, those of us wanting to drink our fill of butterbeer had to travel all the way to Orlando, Florida.
Thanks to Universal Studios Hollywood, fans will soon have their own Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal City, California.
If you can’t wait until spring, when the theme park is set to open, you can get a peek in a video posted Thursday on YouTube.
A Hogwarts Express conductor takes you on a tour of Hogsmeade village, where you can visit some of the wizarding world’s best shops like Zonko’s Joke Shop and Dervish and Banges.
There’s the Owl Post so you can send letters home with the official Hogsmeade mail post. Hogwarts castle and Hagrid’s hut both get a shoutout for fans hoping that Hollywood’s Harry Potter attraction has the same enchanted destinations as its Florida counterpart.
If you’re hungry from all that magical shopping, there are eateries like Three Broomsticks and Hogshead Pub. Honeydukes candy shop is on hand to replenish our supply of chocolate frogs. Ollivanders wand shop is there too, of course.
The new park also promises rides like the immersive “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey” and “Flight of the Hippogriff.”
I’m counting down the days till I can wave my new wand and get hopped up on butterbeer.

A new update for the Minecraft: Windows 10 and Minecraft: Pocket Edition version has been released which allow the players to visit new desert temples and explore them, collect four types of fluffy rabbits and use the new basic redstone components.
In addition, the new version also comes with five new door types along with a new biome settler character skins. Below we’re going to talk about the new additions that the Minecraft: Windows 10 and Minecraft: Pocket Edition comes with.
The new Minecraft version comes with exploring desert biomes, where the players will find mysterious desert temples emerging from the sands. These structures are made from sandstone and they will offer a chance for the Minecraft players to grab some decent loot (as long as they get out in one piece). In addition, the players will be able to find six types of adorable bunnies that are hopping around the Minecraft world.
Mojang said that they’ve invested the most sophisticated AI technology in the new Bunnies to make sure that these “creatures” will eat your crops when they are hungry. With other words, they are cute but at the same time they are quite “destructive”.
The same update brings Biome Settler Pack I that costs 1.99 dollars and it is the first of a series of desert, tundra and forest biome-inspired skin packs which brings more than two dozen new character skins to the Minecraft game. The new skin packs comes with a few new characters such as hunter, brewers, archers and more.
Minecraft 0.130 also features the first of three groups of simple redstone items which includes: redstone torches, redstone wires, levers, buttons, pressure plates, redstone lamps, note blocks, trapped chests, detector rails, TNT, tripwire hooks and more.
The full list of features, bug fixes and tweaks that Minecraft 0.13.0 comes with can be found on the Mojang website.

A new update for the Windows 10 and Pocket Edition of Minecraft has been released, giving players access to “basic redstone components,” and introducing new desert temples to explore. Additionally, players can also collect “four types of cute, fluffy rabbits,” which is arguably the most important addition.
On top of all that, dwellings can now sport five new door types, and new biome settler character skins are also available. The full list of new additions can be found below.
- Redstone Circuits: Today’s .13 update is sure to light up your life by delivering one of the most player-requested features for Windows 10 and Pocket Edition–redstone. Mining blocks of this very useful, rare material produces a substance called redstone dust. This dust can then be used to carry signals between objects and build some of the more advanced items in Minecraft. Players can make a wire out of redstone dust by placing it on blocks next to each other. By adding a redstone signal and components, players can create anything from doorbells to switchable lights to mob grinders to rollercoasters.
- The .13 update brings the first of three groups of simple redstone items to the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition beta and Pocket Edition including redstone wires, redstone torches, redstone lamps, levers, buttons, pressure plates, tripwire hooks, note blocks, trapped chests, detector rails and TNT. But don’t worry- Minecrafters who’ve already mastered advanced redstone can look forward to advanced blocks like Pistons, Repeaters and others are planned in future updates with the final two groups of redstone functionality.
- Desert Temples and Rabbits: Redstone is a huge, much-awaited update, but we’ve also got icing to put on top of the cake! While exploring desert biomes, players may find mysterious desert temples emerging from the sands. Built from sandstone, these structures offer adventurous Minecrafters a chance at grabbing some valuable loot–provided they can make it out in one piece. Players will also now find six types of adorable, cuddly bunnies hopping around their Minecraft worlds. We’ve invested the most sophisticated in revolutionary Bunny AI Technology to ensure that, just like in real life, these skittish bundles of fur will help themselves to your crops when they are hungry. Cute, but destructive.
- Biome Settlers: Also available today, the Biome Settler Pack I ($1.99 USD)–the first of a series of forest, tundra and desert biome-inspired skin packs, adds more than two dozen new character skins to the game. This new skin pack brings a slew of new settler characters like archers, hunters and brewers into the game, offering Minecrafters biome-themed skins they can use to roleplay with their friends.
Microsoft spent $2.5 billion to buy Mojang and the Minecraft property in September 2014. According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, its in-development augmented reality headset, HoloLens, was a major part of the decision to acquire the studio and its game.
“Let’s have a game that, in fact, will fundamentally help us change new categories,” Nadella said. “HoloLens was very much in the works [when Microsoft announced the deal last year], and we knew it.”
Microsoft has also confirmed that it will introduce Oculus Rift support for Minecraft in 2016.
On November 12, Minecraft was listed for a Wii U release by European ratings board PEGI. According to the listing, the Wii U Edition will be released this year. However, Nintendo, neither Mojang, nor its parent company, Microsoft, have officially announced the release yet.

There’s probably plenty to keep miners thoroughly entertained as it is in Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta, however, Mojang have added more content to the game to further expand the creativity and playing time for keen crafters. Players will be able to create ever more blocky goodness with the addition of redstone components, explore all-new desert temples, find and collect four types of rabbits, and enjoy a few more creative options too.
As a highly-requested feature, redstone is sure to be a player-pleaser in the latest update. If you’ve never experienced the joys of redstone, take look at this quick rundown of the rare material:
Mining blocks of this very useful, rare material produces a substance called redstone dust. This dust can then be used to carry signals between objects and build some of the more advanced items in Minecraft. Players can make a wire out of redstone dust by placing it on blocks next to each other. By adding a redstone signal and components, players can create anything from doorbells to switchable lights to mob grinders to rollercoasters.Three groups of “simple redstone items” will be available including redstone wires, torches and lamps. Players can also use “levers, buttons, pressure plates, tripwire hooks, note blocks, trapped chests, detector rails and TNT”. If you’ve already mastered the art of advanced redstone, you will still be able to enjoy other advanced blocks such as Pistons and Repeaters. More blocks will be added in future updates when the final two groups of redstone functionality are released.

Shoghi and Daniel from Majong take to the newly updated land of Minecraft and check out a freshly created redstone mansion in this recently released video. Check it out and then see if you can rustle up a bigger and better mansion:
Redstone is the main feature of the update but Majong has also treated fans to a little bit extra with Desert Temples and Rabbits. As adventures explore desert biomes, mysterious desert temples will spawn from the sands. Players can give in to the temptation of exploring these structures and finding and grabbing some precious loot. Reap the rewards if you can make it back out of the temple alive.
The newly introduced rabbits will come in six types. Mojang has used the most “sophisticated in revolutionary Bunny AI Technology” to make sure that these cuddly rabbits will be just as annoying in-game as they will be in real life by eating all of your precious crops when they are hungry.
As if all of this wasn’t enough, the new “Biome Settler Pack I”, which includes the first series of “forest, tundra, and desert biome-inspired packs” and more than 24 new character skins has also been released at $1.99 or your regional equivalent.
The free update for Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta is live right now and you will be prompted to download the update if you haven’t done so already.
Minecraft: Windows 10 Details Latest Update

It looks like something is going to happen to change the latter days of the Wii U: Minecraft is coming.
Not more than a week ago PEGI, at the European ratings board, surprisingly leaked the rating of Minecraft Wii U Edition. The game has been approved for 7 years and up, same as all other Minecraft versions. But this is not the most important thing at the moment, it was the existence of the game itself that intrigued everyone. Only with the advent of Minecraft Story Mode did the Minecraft drought begin to end.
Anyway, another question comes to mind, will Minecraft come to Nintendo NX? And what kind of game changer it will be, that if Nintendo NX is what we think it is. The answer is: it wll be spectacular, an entire revolution.
The Wii U edition of Minecraft is a bit late to the game. But still, it will sell a million copies or more, that is the effect of Minecraft. Chances are the game will make good use of the GamePad as an always-visible inventory, which – while it will hardly change how the game is played – will be a very welcome ease-of-use addition.
Minecraft NX Edition is a totally different thing, indeed it will be a gamechanger, provided that it will happen as announced. According to that story from a month or so back, the Nintendo NX is – as long suspected/dreamed/hoped – a console and handheld hybrid, roughly as powerful as the PlayStation 4. With its strong launch lineup, it’ll catapult Nintendo back into the current generation, but with exciting and innovative hardware to match.
Now let’s think about Minecraft itself. Minecraft Poket Edition was kind of lame, really and the PlayStation Vita is kind of expensive. But let’s think about the Nintendo NX and imagine what could if offer. A full, complete, and portable version of Minecraft, as modern as any of the console editions and not hobbled by the limitations of mobile devices. Isn’t that the dream?
Indeed, these are only speculations, Minecraft Wii U Edition isn’t even officially confirmed yet, but it will be, rather soon. But this doesn’t guarantee the existence of a Nintendo NX edition of Minecraft, well it’s something, even if it is just a reason for hope.
Minecraft Wii U and NX Edition Update – To Come as a Gamechanger

A new update has been released for the Windows 10 and Pocket Edition of Minecraft, adding new “redstone components” for players, as well new environments and other features.
Gamestop reports the .13 update will grant players access to a unique material known as redstone.
Mining redstone blocks will produce a substance known as redstone dust, which can be used to carry signals between objects and structures. Redstone can be utilized in a variety of ways, allowing players to construct creative mechanisms such as doorbells, switchable lights and even roller coasters.
The update will feature simple redstone items such as “redstone wires, redstone torches, redstone lamps, levers, buttons, pressure plates, tripwire hooks, note blocks, trapped chests, detector rails and TNT.” Future updates will bring more advanced tools like Pistons and Repeaters.
In addition, players may now stumble upon hidden temples when exploring desert levels. The temples will hold valuable loot if the players can survive its hazards.
Apparently, bunnies are also a thing now. The cute critters will hop across worlds, and help themselves to your crops if you aren’t vigilant.
Players now also have the option of purchasing the Biome Settler Pack for $1.99, which adds over two dozen new character skins to the game including archer, hunter and brewer models.
In other news, Microsoft announced this week that Minecraft developer Mojang joined up with Code.org, to produce a programming tutorial for children for the website’s annual Hour of Code event in December.
“Teachers and students can access the tutorial across PCs, tablets and phones to conduct an hour of code at home and in their classrooms on nearly any devices,” said Deirdre Quarnstrom, director of Minecraft for Education at Microsoft.
“Microsoft will also host Hour of Code events around the world and within Microsoft stores kicking off early next month,” she added.
Last year, Microsoft purchased Minecraft and Mojang for $2.5 million, launching Minecraft for Education soon after.
